Cologne Police Release Images of Suspect Following Kiosk Shooting

Authorities seek public assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a shooting that severely injured a kiosk employee.
On January 29, 2025, at approximately 21:10 local time, a shooting incident occurred at a kiosk situated on Rösrather Straße in Cologne-Ostheim, resulting in severe injuries to the employee present at the location.

The Cologne police have initiated a public appeal for assistance in identifying a suspect connected to this case, having released images of the alleged shooter who is being sought on charges of attempted murder.

According to reports, the suspect entered the kiosk and discharged multiple firearm rounds toward the employee, who was positioned behind the counter during the assault.

Following the shooting, the assailant fled the scene utilizing an e-scooter, which was reportedly the mode of transport he used to arrive at the kiosk.

Descriptions of the suspect provided by the police indicate that he is of slim build and was wearing a black hooded jacket, a black tube scarf, black shoes, black gloves, and blue trousers at the time of the incident.

In light of the possibility that the individual may be armed, authorities are urging the public not to approach the suspect if spotted, and instead report any sightings to the police immediately.

Members of the public with information regarding the suspect are encouraged to contact the Cologne police at 0221/229-0 or via email at poststelle.koeln@polizei.nrw.de.

In case of emergencies, witnesses are advised to call emergency services by dialing 110.

Additionally, investigators are exploring potential connections between this shooting incident and a previous case in which a man was shot in front of a gym in Kalk in October 2024.
