Bill Maher is firing back at liberals who compare Donald Trump to Adolf Hitler. The comedian blasted Larry David’s recent op-ed in The New York Times, where David slammed Maher’s dinner with Trump as equivalent to dining with Hitler.

Maher said the comparison was not just wrong but deeply insulting to the six million Jews murdered in the Holocaust. He emphasized Hitler’s place in history as "the G.O.A.T. of evil" and said it should never be trivialized for political arguments.

Shannon Bream pointed out the intellectual dishonesty of the comparison, noting that executive overreach critics blame Trump for was actually a hallmark of Barack Obama’s presidency. Bream added that calling Trump Hitler is lazy, offensive, and a signal that critics have no real argument.

Rosanna Scotto questioned why Larry David, a supposed friend of Maher’s, didn't just call him privately instead of attacking him in print. She said comparing someone to Hitler is not an invitation to debate — it's an attempt to silence.

Greg Gutfeld noted that the real danger of these constant Hitler comparisons is how they trivialize true historical atrocities. He also challenged David’s record, asking where he was when Jewish students and speakers faced harassment from pro-Hamas activists on American campuses. Gutfeld said he could find no examples of David standing up against real antisemitism — but plenty of outrage when it came to criticizing Maher's dinner choice.

Maher, during his interview with Piers Morgan, remained unfazed. He pointed out that if he could sit down with Donald Trump, he could certainly sit down with Larry David, too.

Panelists concluded that calling conservatives Nazis has become a lazy, cowardly tactic — one that erodes the memory of actual victims of real evil. Maher's stand highlights a growing frustration, even among liberals, with a culture that uses historical atrocities as political weapons.
