The inauguration ceremony, traditionally held outside the U.S. Capitol, took place indoors because of severe cold weather in Washington D.C. J.D. Vance was sworn in as Vice President.
A parade is scheduled to be held later in a sports arena.
Trump, accompanied by his family, delivered an inaugural address focusing on national strength and prosperity.
He stated, 'The 'Golden Age' of America begins right now.' Trump emphasized a vision for enhanced global respect for the United States and announced intentions to address exploitation.
Trump highlighted immigration control, announcing plans to declare a national emergency at the U.S.-Mexico border and to reintroduce the 'Remain in Mexico' policy, as well as efforts to strengthen regional security.
On energy, he mentioned plans to declare a national emergency to increase oil and gas production.
The inauguration was attended by all living former U.S. presidents except for Michelle Obama, who declined to attend.
Notable attendees included tech entrepreneurs
Elon Musk,
Mark Zuckerberg, and Jeff Bezos, with Musk having expressed support for Trump during the campaign.
International guests included representatives from Germany's AfD party, along with Bundestag members Jürgen Hardt and Thomas Silberhorn.
Earlier in the day, Trump and First Lady Melania Trump attended a church service, followed by a traditional tea meeting with outgoing President
Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden at the White House, marking the peaceful transition of power.
